PRIZM® LightTurn® Connector
The demand for bandwidth has been increasing in all areas of communication and cloud computing are putting extremely high demand on input/output networking interface. Current edge-mount copper and fiber interfaces are at their limits. Embedded parallel optics have become the solution of choice to meet these demands. PRIZM® LightTurn® is designed as a miniature detachable connector which provides passive alignment and novel retention features allowing multiple re-mating perpendicular to the printed circuit board.
Neptec Optical Solutions offers US Conec™ PRIZM® LightTurn® Connector, consists of a multi-fiber ferrule with a photonic turn TIR (Total Internal Reflection) Lens array accepting cleaved fibers with an accompanying connector housing. The perpendicular mating capability saves space on already densely packed circuit boards and increases board component densities. In addition, Neptec offers PLT to PLT assemblies and PLT to MPO assemblies with multi-mode fiber, bare ribbon or jacketed. Customization is available upon request.
